1. Mumbai’s Marol to get Rs 138-crore wholesale fish market of international standards.
The Centre on Wednesday gave the administrative sanction to set up a state-of-the-art wholesale fish market of international standards at Marol (Andheri), Mumbai, at a cost of ₹138 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY). The project has been listed under the Annual Action Plan of Maharashtra for the 2025–26 fiscal. 📖 Read More
2. Mumbai Police track puppy sexual assault accused to Uttar Pradesh in first cross-state animal cruelty operation.
The Mumbai Police conducted a cross-state operation to trace an individual accused of sexually assaulting a puppy, in a significant escalation of enforcement against animal cruelty. 3. ED arrests former Lodha Developers Director Rajendra Lodha in money laundering case.
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday arrested Rajendra Lodha, former director of Lodha Developers Ltd (LDL), in an alleged money laundering case. The ED had last month obtained a production warrant to arrest Lodha in the case. After the court’s approval, he was formally arrested on Thursday. 4. 63-Year-old Malad businessman duped of ₹7.71 Crore in fake online share trading scam; FIR registered.
A 63-year-old paints and coatings manufacturer from Malad (West) has allegedly been cheated of ₹7.71 crore in an online share trading investment scam after fraudsters lured him with promises of high returns through a fake trading platform. The complainant, Paresh Narendra Kothari (63), a resident of Shree Vrind Adarsh Dughdalaya, Shaktinagar Lane, Marve Road, Malad West, has been residing at the address for the past 20 years and operates a paints and coatings manufacturing business. 📖 Read More
5. BMC moves to auction 8 properties over ₹455.48 Crore in pending Property Tax dues.
The BMC’s Assessment & Collection (A&C) Department has taken strict action against eight defaulter properties, including vacant land, residential and commercial plots, industrial units and hotels, with pending property tax and penalties totalling Rs 455.48 crore. Following repeated reminders, six properties have been listed for public e-auction, while two owners have been given 21 days to settle their dues before auction proceedings commence. 📖 Read More
6. Sahar Police to cancel licences of taxi drivers who scammed American tourist of ₹18,000 for 400-metre ride.
The Sahar Police have completed the process of cancellation of the taxi permits and driving licences of two drivers who charged an American tourist a hefty Rs 18,000 for a taxi ride of barely 400 metres. The proposal has been forwarded to the Regional Transport Office (RTO), which will take further action in the matter. The taxi permit cancellation documents have been sent to the Tardeo RTO, while the driving licence cancellation documents have been forwarded to the Andheri RTO. 📖 Read More
