1. Mumbai Police recovers 1,464 stolen and lost phones worth Rs 3.22 crore, returns them to their owners.
Mumbai Police has managed to recover 1,464 stolen and lost mobile phones from parts of the city in the past month. The phones, worth over Rs 3.22 crore, were on Thursday returned to their owners, the police said. According to police, Mumbai Police's Zones 3, 4, and 5 worked closely to recover the stolen or lost mobile phones. đ Read More
2. âSnacky Jainâ: First-ever Jain dog biscuits launched in Mumbai to cater to pious canine parents.
Since the announcement of the launch of âIndiaâs first pure Jain dog biscuitâ on Monday, Fredun Medhora, 39, Managing Director of Fredun Pharmaceuticals Limited (FPL), said his phone has been ringing every three to four minutes with calls for pre-orders. While the first batch of âSnacky Jainâ is expected to hit stores next month, Medhora said that 12 tonnes of the product have been sold in pre-orders on WhatsApp. đ Read More
3. Mithi scam âmastermindâ used shell companies, played role in setting terms of contract: Court.
Terming him the âmastermindâ of the Mithi river desilting scam, a sessions court rejected the bail application of CEO of Virgo Specialities Pvt Ltd Ketan Kadam for the second time. Kadam was arrested by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Mumbai Police in May. The court noted that Kadam has âdirect involvementâ in the crime and has âmanaged money received from the contractors in his shell companiesâ. đ Read More

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Wednesday inaugurated the newly revamped Mahim Sea Food Plaza, bringing back one of the cityâs popular coastal dining spots. The civic body said the initiative has been carried out under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner and Administrator Bhushan Gagrani and Additional Municipal Commissioner (City) Dr. Ashwini Joshi. 6. Mumbai AQI improves slightly, but Bandra, Chembur remain in âpoorâ zone.
The air quality index (AQI) in Mumbai is 124 on Thursday morning (October 16), as reported by the Ministry of Earth Sciences. This falls under the âmoderateâ category and marks a slight dip from Wednesday morning at 138 and 143 on Tuesday. The highest AQI was recorded at Bandra (216), closely followed by Chembur at 206, both of which fall under the âpoorâ category. According to trends, the air quality in Mumbai is likely to take a steep dip in the coming month as winter approaches and wind patterns slow down. đ Read More
